In the church we have lots of meetings! They are an opportunity for practising discernment. As we gather for our meetings, let us accept the challenge to "let the same mind be in you as was in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 2:5). Lacuna is a space in which we can listen attentively for the call of God, and creating Lacuna in meetings can assist in developing a discerning community.
Ann Siddall has developed a resource for fostering discernment in meetings for the Synod of South Australia. She has given us permission to adapt this resource for the Lacuna kit. This material suggests a five-step process for use in meetings, see below. The kit contains liturgies for use in meetings to aid discernment.
Send us by email any comments about your experience of using this material and any additional resources you have made or discovered.
